We saw the sun!!

The past few days have been some of my favourite in and out of the kennel. I've listed some highlights below :)

Sledding at midday! The first sun sighting in 3 weeks.

• The temperatures have been hovering around -30°C for a few days, and this arctic blast is expected to continue for another week!

• We have opened another half-day trail (about 15km long, which takes ~1.5 hours) on a beautiful trail - now we have 3 possible trails for half-day tours.

• We had our first tour day of the season with no flying sleds! A new record is born!

• We (Jessie, Jade, Nick and I) enjoyed NYE at the hotel with the other outdoor guides. Just before we left our house, the handle of our caddy broke off in the cold, so we had to wait for some staff to pick us up in a work van. We drank prosecco, danced in the nightclub, sledded down an icy hill and watched the fireworks.

• Today on our day off, we borrowed some 'fat-bikes' from the hotel, and went for a ride through the snow. It was a beautiful day (even in the freezing cold), but we did have to warm up in the jacuzzi afterwards.

I think January is my favourite month in Lapland - it's still cold and magical, but you start to see the sun more. I'm feeling extremely content and happy here, and I can't believe how quickly the time is passing!
